Auction Guide
📅Auction Types & Closing Times
All lots are sold AS-IS and ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No returns, refunds, or exchanges.
🏷️ Item Auction
- Features mostly individual items
- Begins closing Tuesday night at 8:00 PM.
- Each lot closes 5 seconds apart from the previous one, so you have time to bid on multiple items.
- The auction will continue until roughly all 1,000+ items are finished. This usually happens around 9:30 PM, but could go a little later if bidding continues.
📦Pallet Auction
- Includes mostly bulk items or items sold by the pallet
- Begins earlier on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
- Each lot is spaced 10 seconds apart to give you time to bid on multiple pallets if you wish.
📝Please note: PayWut is not an authorized dealer for any of the products listed. As a result, manufacturer warranties or support may not apply to items purchased through our platform.
💰Bid Smarter with Proxy Bidding
Bidders are responsible for ensuring their bid submissions are correct. Once a bid is submitted, it cannot be retracted.
Our auction uses an automatic bidding system called proxy bidding.
🔄Here's How It Works:
- You enter your maximum bid—the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.
- The system automatically bids just enough to keep you in the lead, using the lowest possible increments (based on the auction's bidding rules).
- If someone outbids you, the system will continue placing bids on your behalf—up to your maximum amount.
- If no one else bids higher than your maximum, you win the item—and you might pay less than your full bid.
💡Example:
- Let’s say an item is currently at $10, and you enter a maximum bid of $50.
- If no one else bids, you win it for $10.
- If another bidder places a bid of $15, the system will automatically outbid them at $16 (depending on the bid increment).
- The system keeps bidding for you until your $50 maximum is exceeded or you win the item.
🎯Why Use Proxy Bidding?
- ⏳Convenience: You don’t need to sit and watch the auction.
- ⚖️Fairness: The system bids fairly and only when needed.
- 💸Potential Savings: You may win the item for much less than your top bid.
🛠️Pro Tip:
You can only see the current winning bid—not other people’s maximum bids. So bid your true maximum upfront to give yourself the best shot at winning!
🐛Known Bug:
In some cases it may appear that you've won when the timer hits zero. However, a last-second bid from another user might not display right away. To be sure, please refresh the page after the auction ends to confirm whether you were the winning bidder.
🍿Understand Popcorn Bidding
Popcorn bidding is a feature that helps keep the auction fair by extending the time when last-second bids are placed.
⏰How It Works:
- If a bid is placed in the final 2 minutes of an item’s auction, the end time extends by 2 more minutes.
- This gives other bidders a fair chance to respond—just like a real auctioneer asking, "Any more bids?"
🎬Why It’s Called “Popcorn”:
The name comes from the way bids can “pop” in at the last second, like popcorn kernels, causing the auction to keep going a bit longer.
🏆Why It’s Important:
- 🚫Prevents sniping (those last-second surprise bids that don’t give others time to react).
- 🏁Gives everyone a fair shot at winning.
- ⚡Makes bidding more exciting and competitive in the final moments!
💳Payment Instructions & Notifications
💵 All winning bids are considered final and must be paid in full. Please bid responsibly and within your means. Failure to complete payment may result in account suspension and loss of bidding privileges in future auctions.
After the bidding ends, you will receive an email if you’ve won an auction.
🔔 Note: Occasionally, our email system may experience delays and fail to send out auction notifications. To be safe, please log in and check your Winning Auctions tab after each auction to confirm any wins.
🕐 Payment Deadline
You have 24 hours after the auction ends to pay for your items.
All payments must be completed by Wednesday at 9:00 PM.
Any items not paid for by the deadline may be offered to the second-highest bidder or relisted in a future auction. You may also receive an email notification that your items have been canceled.
